3rd chapter

Amelie Cain

They all went back to the Bentley and Skulduggery drove off to Ghastly’s place. Before they could get to Ghastly’s, a bullet shot through Valkyrie’s window, they all jumped out of the Bentley and Valkyrie pulled her new sword out of its scabbard. She held the sword in front her watching for the attacker, then there was another shot, this time it was from Scarlet, Valkyrie looked to her side and saw two bullets on the ground beside her. She realised that Scarlet had deflected the bullet that was coming for her and was amazed by Scarlets accuracy. Soon Scarlet and Valkyrie were back to back, all swords drawn from their scabbards.

Skulduggery pulled out his revolver from its holster and looked around for the attacker. He read the air and sensed the attacker; he turned and looked at the roof top of a tall building, saw the attacker, aimed the gun and fired. The attacker dropped from the building and crashed to the ground. The attacker was a very large figure from the distance. Then there was a smaller figure in the distance, and Valkyrie could only make out the brown braided hair and the black jacket she was wearing. The lady that was fighting against the giant man was really good at fighting, just like Tanith. Valkyrie missed Tanith, the real Tanith without the remment inside of her, sometimes Tanith would come and visit her but, it’s just not the same with the remment inside of her. They all ran to help the lady fight Valkyrie’s attacker. When they got to the fight, Valkyrie and Scarlet pulled out their swords and attacked from all sides of the man. The man was incredibly fast for his size and he blocked and dodged all of their attacks. Skulduggery took his new revolver out and shot the man’s cheek, the bullet bounced off and landed on the ground beside him. The man smiled at Skulduggery and pushed the girls away, he walked to Skulduggery and raised his hand up to Skulduggery’s skull and was about to crush it, when, the brown haired lady stabbed her sword into his leg and twisted the bone out. She lifted the sword above her head and brought it down onto the man’s chest.

Valkyrie and Scarlet helped each other up and walked over to Skulduggery, which was standing over the dead man’s body. The lady rested her bloody sword on her shoulder and stared at them. She started with a greeting  and introduced herself.

“Hello, my name is Amelie Cain”

Valkyrie’s mouth dropped open and she looked at Skulduggery who was looking away.

“You never told me that there was someone else with the name Cain.”She looked away and crossed her arms. Scarlet stared at both of them and shrugged her shoulders. She turned to Amelie and started talking. After an hour they all went back to the Bentley and Amelie followed. Skulduggery put it into gear and drove off to Ghastly’s.
